ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (11/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Carol Lowe, a St. Mary's County, Md. native and sophomore at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Maryland Bank & Trust Scholarship Fund in Memory of John T. Daugherty. Established in 1995, the named scholarship fund benefits Southern Maryland students.
At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Lowe is studying theater, film, and media studies. She aspires to complete her undergraduate degree in 2016 and immerse herself in a career in the world of entertainment.
"My goals in life include getting a job either doing stage work for major films or setting up concerts. But in a broader sense, I want to always enjoy life and never get too comfortable," says Lowe.
Lowe is active on campus in a student-run theater group called the White Room. Her interests include theater makeup, films, music and photography.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
