JEFFERSON CITY, TN (03/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Carson-Newman University senior Laura Lakins recently performed her senior recital March 1 in C-N's Thomas Recital Hall.
The instrumentalist performed selections from Schumann, Poulenc, Warlock, Quilter and Head. She was accompanied by Sharon McGinley, staff accompanist.
The recital also highlighted the vocal skills of junior tenor Maxwell Sampson, of Maynardville, TN.
A brief reception followed the recital.
Lakins is the daughter of Caswell and Beverly Lakins of Rutledge, Tennessee
Her senior recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Bachelor of Music degree, in Music Education. She is the student of Mr. Keith McClelland.
Carson-Newman University is a private, coeducation, Christian liberal arts university. Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
