JEFFERSON CITY, TN (03/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Carson-Newman University junior Maxwell Sampson recently performed his junior recital March 1 in C-N's Thomas Recital Hall.
The tenor vocalist performed selections from Merci, Bavel, Clérisse, Howells, and Schumann. He was accompanied by Sharon McGinley, staff accompanist.
The recital also highlighted the instrumental skills of senior bassoonist, Laura Lakins, of Rutledge.
A brief reception followed the recital.
Sampson is the son of of Timothy and Tammy Shartzer from Maynardville, Tennessee.
His junior recital is presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the Bachelor of Music degree, in Vocal Performance and Music Theory. Maxwell is the voice student of Dr. Angela Holder.
Carson-Newman University is a private, coeducation, Christian liberal arts university. Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
