C-N senior Rachel Carmack, a soprano vocalist, performed selections from a variety of composers during her senior recital.

JEFFERSON CITY, TN (02/25/2013)(readMedia)--  Carson-Newman University senior Rachel Carmack recently performed her senior recital February 22 in C-N's Thomas Recital Hall.

The soprano vocalist performed selections from Copland, Brahms, Mozart and others. She was accompanied by Sharon McGinley, staff accompanist.

The recital also highlighted the vocal skills of junior soprano Kelli Anderson, of Nashville.

A brief reception followed the recital.

Carmack is the daughter of Star Vaughn and Ennis Carmack Jr. of Bulls Gap.

Her senior recital was presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Bachelor of Music degree in music performance, vocal emphasis. Carmack is the student of Dr. Clark Measels.

Carson-Newman University is a private, coeducation, Christian liberal arts university. Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
