Castro Valley Native Emily Lin-Jones Wins Journalism Award at National Conference

WALLA WALLA, WA (11/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Castro Valley native Emily Lin-Jones recently attended the 91st annual Associated Collegiate Press Conference in Chicago as a news editor for Whitman College's student-run newspaper, The Pioneer. She won fifth place for the Diversity Story of the Year for her article on colorblindness at Whitman. The paper was also won the "Best of Show" award.

Lin-Jones is the daughter of Jennifer Lin-Jones and Ogden Jones from Castro Valley. She is a 2009 graduate of Castro Valley High School.

At Whitman, Lin-Jones is a sophomore English major.
