DELMAR, NY (12/02/2024) (readMedia)-- The Mendelssohn Club of Albany will help ring in the season with its traditional winter holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 13th at The Egg. The club, now in its 116th season, will perform "Home for the Holidays," featuring a range of traditional, classical, and modern holiday-themed music.

Albany High School's Troubadours and Bosnian-born soprano, Vedrana Kalas, will join the club as guest artists for the evening. The Troubadours consists of tenors and basses who audition for the group and sing a variety of challenging music focusing mostly on a repertoire of contemporary acapella music. This ensemble performs consistently throughout the year in school and in the community and is also part of Albany High School's Chamber Choir. Ms. Kalas has performed as a soloist with many large choral and ballet ensembles. Recently, she appeared as a soprano soloist with the New York City Ballet and Orchestra in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

"We look forward to providing our audience with a great musical holiday experience, and to performing with our talented guest artists," said Mendelssohn Club president, Russ Ward. "This longstanding Capital Region tradition is a great way to begin the holiday season, and we have a wonderful evening of music planned for our audience."
