DANVILLE, KY (09/08/2011)(readMedia)-- After scoring two goals and adding an assist in a season opening victory over Kenyon College, Centre's Barbara Parks of Chapel Hill was selected as one of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's Co-Offensive Players-of-the-Week for games played Sept. 1 through Sept. 4.

Parks, a junior forward, scored a goal in each half of Centre's 6-1 win, and assisted on a late goal by Chelsea Klein. Parks was a First Team All-SCAC and all-region selection last year after scoring five goals and recording six assists.

Parks shared this week's Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week honor with Erika Jasso of Hendrix College. Jasso also had two goals and an assist in a season opening victory over Lindenwood.

After the Colonels' second scheduled contest was wiped out by inclement weather, they return to action this weekend at the Mary Washington Tournament, where they face Christopher Newport on Saturday and Marywood on Sunday.

Parks is the daughter of Cliff and Cindy Parks of Chapel Hill and is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School.
