Centre College's Ben Hume named preseason All-American

DANVILLE, KY (08/18/2011)(readMedia)-- Centre College Senior offensive lineman Ben Hume of Lexington has been named to the preseason All-American team for the upcoming football season.
He was named to the Consensus Draft Services Division III Preseason All-American Team, being selected to the first team for the second year in a row. Hume was also named to the D3 Senior Classic Preseason All-American Team.
Hume anchored a line that helped the Colonels' offense roll up an average of 384.6 yards and 34.2 points per game on the way to a 6-4 record last season. He finished the year with a second straight selection to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team as well as a second All-South Region nomination.
He is the son of Dave and Linda Hume of Lexington and is a graduate of Lexington Catholic.
Centre will open its season Sept. 3 at Hanover.
