DANVILLE, KY (08/18/2011)(readMedia)-- Centre College senior tight end John Coomer of Somerset has been named to the preseason All-American team for the upcoming football season.
He was named to the Consensus Draft Services Division III Preseason All-American Team earning honorable mention honors.
Coomer caught five balls for 113 yards and a touchdown last season, earning second team All-SCAC honors. Coomer has 45 catches for 504 yards and seven scores in his Centre career.
Centre will open its season Sept. 3 at Hanover.
