The Champlain College Workforce Development Center will offer an intensive four-month Certificate in Nonprofit Management Program beginning in September. This program provides the opportunity for nonprofit professionals to gain and refine the essential skills needed to strengthen their organizations and achieve their missions, according to Melissa Hersh, director of the Workforce Development Center.
The program combines face-to-face teaching with an online learning portal, she said, and will be offered in two sites, Manchester and Burlington, delivered by Marlboro College and Champlain College respectively.
Program topics include: Leadership in the Nonprofit Sector; Financial Management; Strategic Planning; Fundraising; Marketing; Human Resources; Conflict Resolution; and Nonprofit Boards and Governance.
The Burlington program will be held at Champlain College as well as the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center on the following Fridays: Sept. 11 and 25; Oct. 16 and 30; Nov. 6 and 20; Dec. 4 and 11; Jan. 8 and 15. Sessions run from 9 am to 4 pm for the 10 days of face-to-face training. Tuition for the 10-session program is $1,250. Class size is limited to 24 participants.
