Chelsea Darlington of Tacoma receives grant for student-professor research project

WALLA WALLA, WA (06/21/2012)(readMedia)-- Chelsea Darlington of Tacoma, Wash. recently received a Louis B. Perry Research Award from Whitman College.

The Perry Grant, an award ranging from $2500 to $3000, gives undergradute students the opportunity to work with professors on a summer research project. Grants are awarded to student-professor teams in many different academic fields.

Darlington is collaborating with Assistant Professor of Economics Lee Sanning on studying the risk characteristics and performance of pilot-managed mutual funds. Next fall she will return to Whitman as a junior economics major.

Darlington is the daughter of Chaney and Carol Darlington and a 2012 graduate of Stadium High School.
