Chelsea Partington of Chepachet, R.I. inducted into Spanish Honor Society at Quinnipiac University

HAMDEN, CT (03/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Chelsea Partington of Chepachet, R.I., was one of eight Quinnipiac University students who were inducted into Sigma Delta Pi, National Collegiate Honor Society in Spanish on March 5 during a ceremony at Quinnipiac.

To be considered for membership in Sigma Delta Pi, a student must be at least a junior at the time of induction, have a minimum grade point average of 3.2 overall, including their Spanish courses, and have completed at least 18 credits in Spanish at the 200-level or above.

Sigma Delta Pi was established in 1919 at the University of California, Berkeley, and is the only national or international honor society devoted exclusively to students of Spanish in four-year colleges and universities. The Quinnipiac chapter of Sigma Delta Pi held its first inductions in 1998.

Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston.
