PHILADELPHIA, PA (10/14/2011)(readMedia)-- Captain David E. Price was presented with the Annual Alumni Award at University of the Sciences' alumni reunion on Sept. 24, 2011. The award is bestowed annually upon the person who graduated from the university and who has been distinguished by having contributed in outstanding fashion to the professions, to science, and/or to mankind.
Captain Price has had a long and distinguished career serving our country and since retired from active duty in 2008. He originally enlisted in the Navy in 1973. After being released from active duty in 1979, he received a BA in pharmacy from USciences in 1984. He would reenlist with assignments both at home and abroad. In April 2005, Captain Price was assigned to Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, DC, as the pharmacy consultant to the Navy surgeon general and navy pharmacy specialty leader. He was deployed twice to Kuwait in support of the Iraqi freedom operation as the Executive Officer.
He was the recipient of the American Pharmacist Association Distinguished Federal pharmacist of the year award in 2006. Among his other honors, he was also awarded the Legion of Merit, the Navy Meritorious Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
Captain Price is employed by Deloitte Consulting and working in support of the Navy Pharmacy Management Program. He is a native to Illinois who now resides in Chesapeake, VA, with his wife and two children Matthew Charles and Abigail Faith.
