WHITTER, CA (03/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Whittier College Poet swimmer Christopher Evans from Greenwich, Connecticut set new individual school records in the 100-yard Back (50.88) and the 100-yard Free (46.48) during the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships late last month. Evans, a sophomore, was also a part of the relay teams which have broken the school records in the 200-yard Free Relay (1:27.71) and 400-yard Medley Relay (3:36.02) during the competition. He finished third overall in the event. While the season is over, he awaits to hear if he has qualified for the NCAA Championship.
Overall, the Whittier men's swimming & diving team placed fifth with a score of 272 at the SCIAC competition.
