HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/09/2012)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 26, Hampden-Sydney College sophomore Christopher Allen Stockinger received the Macon Reed Award in Mathematics, presented by Dr. Paul F. Hemler, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science. Endowed by the families of Macon Reed, long-time Hampden-Sydney College dean and a math/classics professor, and Fred W. Young '44, the Macon Reed Award is presented to the outstanding mathematics major in the sophomore class.
A Patrick Henry Scholar, Chris serves as House Manager of the social fraternity Theta Chi and plays defense on the varsity lacrosse team. An applied mathematics major, Chris graduated from Klein High School and is the son of Mike & Rhonda Stockinger of Spring.
