Christopher Brown of Waynesboro Completes Comegys Bight Fellowship

CHESTERTOWN, MD (10/23/2012)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Christopher Brown '12 of Waynesboro, PA has completed his work as a Comegys Bight Fellow. Presented by the College's C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience, the Comegys Bight Fellowship Program offers stipends to support summer internships at some of the nation's leading historical and cultural institutions. These paid internships annually provide a handful of students with high-level research experience on topics related to American history pre-1900.
Over the summer, Brown developed and presented a tour of Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. Now a graduate student on the public history track at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, the internship gave him the opportunity to get some on-the-job experience. Brown presented his research at a special program on campus on October 15th.
Brown majored in History and minored in Anthropology. He graduated cum laude with departmental honors, and was an active member of the Phi Alpha Theta and Lambda Alpha honor societies, as well as Students Helping Honduras and the Trap and Skeet Club. Brown graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School.
