Chrysler 300 Glacier Edition Arrives to Tame the Worst of Winter

New Version of Automaker's Flagship Sedan Adds Storm-Worthy Stability and Style

METHUEN, MASS. (01/30/2013)(readMedia)-- Coinciding fittingly with an Arctic-driven surge of subzero temperatures across the East Coast, the new 2013 Chrysler 300 Glacier edition, designed to offer comfort and capability during even the worst of winter, has arrived at dealerships. The special version of Chrysler's flagship sedan features a snow-conquering all-wheel-drive system and an ice-cold hue to match, offering an exclusive Glacier Blue Pearl Coat exterior.

Buyers of the Chrysler 300 Glacier edition can also choose a Bright White or Billet Silver Metallic paint job, and they have options under the hood as well. A 300-horsepower, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 boasts best-in-class fuel economy and a new cold-air induction system, while the available 5.7-liter HEMI V8 churns out 363 horsepower with surprising fuel efficiency. Enhancing the sleek style of the 300S, the Glacier edition adds several new black accents, like Gloss Black mirrors and headlamp bezels on the exterior and exclusive use of Piano Black across its instrument panel and gauges.

"Discerning drivers like the Chrysler 300 for its excellent ride and plush interior, and the Glacier edition ensures that serene experience continues regardless of what the weather is doing outside," said Tom Barenboim, owner of Clark Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, a Methuen, Massachusetts Chrysler dealer. "We expect it to be a popular seller in Massachusetts because like many of our residents, the Glacier edition isn't just built to survive the winter; it is built to fully embrace the season."

Chrysler recently introduced another special-edition 300 model that focuses on "cool" rather than the cold. Debuting at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, the Chrysler 300 Motown edition pays tribute to the iconic record company of the same name, donning bright-chrome exterior accents, a new Jazz Blue color option and a segment-exclusive ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The Hitsville-themed Chrysler 300 goes on sale in the spring, preloaded with 100 top Motown tunes on a USB memory stick.

While the new special editions should bring an added boost to the Chrysler 300 lineup, existing models continue to gain strong momentum at dealerships. Chrysler sold more than 70,000 units of the full-size sedan in 2012, a 95 percent increase over the year prior.

"The Chrysler 300 is very popular with drivers who want to make a bold statement that other premium sedans can't convey, and the new special-edition models let them make that statement with an extra dose of personality," added Barenboim. "No matter which model buyers choose, they can be confident that they are getting more luxury, performance and fuel efficiency for their money."
