AURORA, IL (11/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Aurora University sophomore midfielder Nicole Wolfe (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the final week of the 2012 conference season.
Wolfe had the game-winning goals in both of Aurora's NAC Tournament victories, giving the Spartans their fourth consecutive NAC Tournament Championship. Wolfe had two goals in the 3-1 semifinal win over Milwaukee School of Engineering and the first goal in the Spartans 2-0 tournament final victory over Edgewood College.
On the season, Wolfe leads the AU offense with 17 goals, eight being game-winning goals, and one assist. AU finished the regular season with a school record tying 19 wins with a 19-1-1 overall record and a 12-0 mark in the NAC, and captured the regular season and tournament championships.
AU will travel to Loras College on Friday, November 9, 2012, to take on Calvin College (15-4-1) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships. Game time in Dubuque, Iowa will be at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the two schools in women's soccer.
