Citizens to Converge on Albany for Reform NY Day 2007

NEW YORK, NY (04/06/2007)(readMedia)-- More than twenty organizations from Buffalo to Long Island are organizing a statewide day of action in Albany entitled "Reform NY Day 2007." The event will take place on Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Hart Lounge in the Egg Theater in the Empire State Plaza in Albany, NY.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. with a rally on the west side of the State Capitol. At 11:45, activists will move to the Hart Lounge for refreshments and a welcome. At NOON, Governor Eliot Spitzer has been invited to give a keynote address on the progress of the reform agenda thus far this year.

The afternoon will consist of a luncheon wherein legislators are invited to come and meet their constituents and a "People's Hearing" on the issues of campaign finance reform, redistricting and legislative rules and government transparency.

The event is free and open to the public and includes breakfast and lunch at the Hart Lounge in the Egg Theater at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.
