STAUNTON, VA (06/10/2010)(readMedia)-- The City of Staunton Parks and Recreation Department is behind the current resurfacing of some of the public tennis courts and basketball courts within the City of Staunton. The tennis courts at Robert E. Lee are owned and maintained by the City's Parks and Recreation Department along with courts in the park system. The Director of Parks and Recreation, Chris Tuttle worked with Lee High School and the Staunton Tennis Association to come to a consensus on court colors, which replicate those used on the U.S. Open courts. The court resurfacing project should be complete this week.
The City of Staunton Parks and Recreation Department is committed to bringing the Staunton community the best possible place and programs. In addition to the aesthetic appeal, the new facelift will hopefully encourage more physical activity as the U.S. Open type courts could attract potential recreational tennis enthusiasts.
