ST. LOUIS, MO (06/13/2012)(readMedia)-- Missouri Baptist University's Alumni Association recently honored outstanding alumni who have made a significant impact in their communities and made efforts to improve society. Honorees were selected by the Alumni Board of Governors and recognized at MBU's Alumni Chapel service.

Clarence Duvall of Little Rock, Ark., received the 2012 Distinguished Alumni award. Duvall graduated from MBU in 1981 and is a bi-vocational minister and businessman. Known as C.J. to many in his community, he serves as a mentor to young adults in urban settings in Little Rock, Ark.

Duvall is a former senior pastor of Theressa Hoover United Methodist Church in Little Rock and a former Fortune 500 company officer and executive of Alltel Wireless. Born in St. Louis, he has lived or worked in Toronto, Ontario; Singapore; Manila; and Jakarta, Indonesia. Duvall has a B.A. in Behavioral Science, a Master of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology and a master's degree in Theology.

He is married to Karen and has two children, Alisha and Alana. He currently is the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock. He is a board member or trustee of Philander Smith College, Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency, BIO Ventures and the Technology Park Advisory Board, City of Little Rock.
