ATLANTA, GA (05/17/2013)(readMedia)-- Clarkston resident Mon Baroi was one of four students selected to represent Oglethorpe University at the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI-U). Founded by President Clinton, CGI-U meets annually to bring together emerging young student leaders with youth organizations, topic experts and celebrities to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges.The meeting was held April 5-7, 2013 at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
Baroi, a politics major and nonprofit management minor, was selected to attend because of his leadership in founding Oglethorpe's Tiny Homes Project. The goal of the Project is to build a $400 home that is sustainable and environmentally-conscious this year on Oglethorpe University campus. The first home is intended to serve as the prototype for five additional homes for homeless or low-income individuals.
