NASHVILLE, TN (12/11/2012)(readMedia)-- INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that Marquis Rudolph (Clarksville Northwest High School) of Trevecca Nazarene University has been named G-MAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Rudolph, a 6-0 senior guard from Clarksville, Tenn., guided Trevecca Nazarene to a split week as the team defeated No. 19 Christian Brothers before losing its weekend game against No. 4 Alabama-Huntsville. In the victory, Rudolph led all scorers with 24 points. He also chipped in three assists, two steals, and a blocked shot. The senior point guard shot 9-12 from the field and was 5-7 from the free throw line.
In the team's loss, Rudolph once again led all scorers with 27 points on 8-13 shooting and 6-6 from the free throw line. He did convert on 5-of-7 three point attempts. He also added three more assists and a steal. One the week he averaged 25.5 points, five rebounds and three assists. Most impressive was his shooting percentage (68%) from the field and his percentage (67%) from long distance.
With his scoring outburst last week, he has moved into the top five in the conference with 13.5 points per game, while remaining third in the conference with 3.5 assists per game.
