Clintonville native honored by Marquette University's College of Arts and Sciences

MILWAUKEE, WI (05/23/2013)(readMedia)-- MILWAUKEE – Megan Mohnen, daughter of Jesse and Peggy Mohnen, was honored with the Gold Medal Award from Marquette University's Klingler College of Arts and Sciences. Mohnen, of Clintonville, Wis., graduated in May with a bachelor of science in biological sciences.

The Gold Medal Award is given to the graduating senior or seniors with the highest cumulative grade point average. Of the many awards recognizing academic achievement by students in the College of Arts and Sciences, none speaks so clearly of the recipient's intelligence, commitment to studies, academic discipline and extraordinary passion to learn.

At Marquette, Mohnen was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honors Society, Pure Dance Marquette, Alpha Epsilon Delta, a pre-professional medical honors society and a volunteer at the Sexual Assault Treatment Center. She also worked in a biological sciences research lab and published a paper based on her work. This fall, Mohnen will attend medical school.
