HARTSVILLE, SC (12/14/2011)(readMedia)-- Coker College student Brandon Short, of Hopkins, S.C., recently presented at the Southeast Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS) held in Richmond, Va., in October. Over 250 graduate and undergraduate students presented research at the conference.
In his research project, "Ab Initio Calculations of Binding Energies of van der Waal's complexes," Short utilized sophisticated computer calculations to predict how much energy is required to separate pairs of molecules. Short is a senior chemistry major at Coker.
