Coker College Student Jean Carter Inducted into Phi Alpha Honor Society

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (03/29/2012)(readMedia)-- Coker College is pleased to announce that Jean Carter has been selected to be a member of Phi Alpha, the International Honor Society in Social Work. Carter is a junior social work major from Gresham, S.C.

The purpose of Phi Alpha is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.

Membership is open to social work majors who have achieved sophomore status, completed nine semester hours of social work coursework, have an overall grade-point average of 3.0 and a 3.25 GPA in required social work courses.
