Columbia County Sportsmen's Federation Aims to Elect Sandy Treadwell to Congress
HYDE PARK, NY (10/24/2008)(readMedia)-- The Columbia County Sportsmen's Federation (CCSF) has unanimously endorsed Sandy Treadwell to be the next Congressman from the 20th Congressional District. The vote was taken at CCSF's October monthly meeting.
"The Federation works with local organizations and elected officials to protect our Second Amendment rights and promote conservation, and our members think very highly of Sandy Treadwell and enthusiastically support him as the best person to represent us in Congress," Federation President Don Lavalley said. "Sandy is down-to-earth and straightforward and we know he is with us on the Second Amendment and other key issues. We are concerned about anti-gun leaders in Congress and the climate they have created with respect to gun ownership. Sandy Treadwell has our support because he will oppose any efforts to restrict our Constitutional rights."
Sandy Treadwell said, "I am pleased to receive the endorsement of the CCSF, which has a proud history and active membership committed to preserving and expanding outdoor recreation. We agree on the issues, including the importance of conservation, and I look forward to working with its members to fight back against any challenges to our Second Amendment rights and to protect the legacy of sportsmen in this district."
Sandy Treadwell recently received a "A" rating from the NRA.
The Columbia County Sportsmen's Federations has been in existence for approximately 70 years. The CCSF is comprised of 28 member clubs from across Columbia County and has approximately 3,500 members.
