Rockford University freshman Connor McNear has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Volleyball Player of the Week. McNear becomes the first RU men's volleyball player in program history to earn a NACC Player of the Week award.
Connor McNear helped lead Rockford to a 2-0 record in conference play and its first two-game NACC winning streak in program history. McNear tied for the match-high with 13 kills in Rockford's 3-1 win over Lakeland. He then had a season-high 14 kills, broke the RU single-match record with a .379 hitting percentage and tallied 2 blocks in a 3-2 upset road win over Marian. For the week, McNear recorded 27 kills to average 3.00 kills per set and had a .333 hitting percentage.
The RU men's volleyball team looks for its third straight win on Tuesday, March 23 when the Regents host Wisconsin Lutheran College at 7 PM in the Seaver Center.
