CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (01/17/2012)(readMedia)-- Corey Culbreath of Carterville, Ill., is among a select group of elite Southeast Missouri State University undergraduates chosen to participate in a five-day seminar in Washington, D.C., during spring break March 11-16, learning about global issues in business, the environment and politics at the prestigious Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
Students selected for the opportunity were required to demonstrate leadership involvement on and off campus, academic excellence or both.
Participants for the trip were nominated by faculty members and selected by University administrators, including Southeast President Kenneth W. Dobbins, Southeast Provost Ronald Rosati, deans and regional campus directors.
Culbreath is studying for a major in biomedical science with a minor in chemistry. He is a junior at Southeast and would like to become a physician. He is president of Lambda Chi Alpha, a student government senator, and a Presidential Ambassador.
Culbreath is the son of Brian and Dana Culbreath of Carterville. He was a 2009 graduate of Herrin High School in Herrin, Ill.
