Corinne Smith from Greenville, N.Y., a junior at SUNY Geneseo, recently presented at the Council of Liberal Arts Colleges Undergraduate Research Conference.

GENESEO, NY (10/18/2010)(readMedia)-- Corinne Smith, a junior from Greenville, N.Y. (12083), was among seven SUNY Geneseo students participating in the Council of Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) Undergraduate Research Conference Oct. 1-3 in North Adams, Mass.

Smith, an art history and English double major, presented on the debate over the years on who Raphael was depicting in his painting La Fornarina. She argued that the painting doesn't represent one woman in particular but his image of his ideal woman. Her faculty mentors are Lynette Bosch, professor of art, and Cynthia Hawkins-Owen, director of galleries in the School of the Arts. The conference featured 72 presentations of research in the humanities, arts, social sciences and natural sciences.
