LA MIRADA, CA (01/13/2014)(readMedia)-- Biola adds a corner infielder from Corona, Calif. to its softball roster as it signs Selina Sherlin from Centennial High School.
Sherlin has been actively involved in softball since 2004, playing on five travel ball teams since 2008. She will bring her bat and glove with her to Biola in fall 2014 and start on the team in the 2015 season.
"When I enter Biola softball I hope to be an asset to the team," Sherlin said. "I will work hard and bond with my teammates. It is an honor for me to have the opportunity to play for Biola softball, and I am determined to be a game-changer."
Sherlin has played for the Huskies, as well as the Corona Eliminators, California Lite, California Cruisers, American Athletics and the American Pastime Gold.
"Selina is a very fortunate pickup for us that we predict will hugely impact our offensive program," said Head Coach Lorie Coleman. "She will help us on the corners as well as in the lineup by raising her level of play as she develops throughout her four years here."
Sherlin could have the possibility of seeing a lot of playing time at first base in her first season with Biola's starting first baseman graduating after this season.
