Corvallis Resident Honored with Michigan Tech Forestry Alumnus Award
HOUGHTON, MI (08/15/2013)(readMedia)-- The School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science has honored four SFRES alumni, including David Myrold '77 of Corvallis, who received the School's 2013 Outstanding Alumnus Award.
Myrold is a soil microbiologist on the faculty of Oregon State University. He graduated from Michigan Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and went on to earn a Master of Science in Soil Science from Washington State University and a PhD in Microbiology from Michigan State University. He is known for forging research collaborations with soil scientists around the world.
Francisca (Panchita) Paulete '06 and Aaron M. Everett '01 were named 2013 Outstanding Young Alumni. and Jacob Hayrynen '81 was inducted into the SFRES Honor Academy.
