CAZENOVIA, NY (03/29/2012)(readMedia)-- The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall is hosting the annual Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibitions from March 13 through May 1. The exhibition ncludes work by visual communications, studio art, photography and interior design degree candidates from Cazenovia College's Division of Art and Design.

Courtney L. Murray, of Southbury, Ct., is majoring in studio art, specializing in photography, with a minor in art history. Her exhibition, from April 16 to 20, will open with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m., on April 16.

Murray is a senior at Cazenovia College, anticipating graduation this May. She is a 2008 graduate of Pomperaug High School. She has lived in Southbury her whole life and looks forward to moving to Maryland after she graduates form Cazenovia with a bachelor of fine arts degree. Murray's show, "Stereoscope Anachronism," consists of hundreds of personal photographs her family has collected from the early 1900s to today, some of which will be viewable on a vintage stereoscope.

The exhibit examines the use of vernacular and personal photography as well as the changes that digital photography has had on the average family album. In the days of film, family photographs most frequently consisted of milestone moments such as graduations, weddings, and formal portraits. Contemporary albums include every day photographs, even the ones that people snap on mobile phones. The gallery exhibit documents these changes in a format similar to an installation of movie stills; the moments creating a time line of the artist's family history and her own life story.
