SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Offers Conference Focusing on Developing Age-Appropriate Skills at the Piano Sept. 27

POTSDAM, NY (09/05/2014)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will welcome piano teachers for an exciting day of free workshops focusing on teaching elementary and intermediate piano students on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The 2014 Crane Piano Pedagogy Conference is open to all piano teachers, and will take place throughout the day on Saturday, Sept. 27. Registration for this conference is open through Tuesday, Sept. 9. The event is free, and all piano teachers are welcome to attend.
Internationally renowned piano pedagogue and author Dr. Randall Faber will present workshops and teaching demonstrations at the conference, focusing on building age-appropriate skills in piano students. All will be offered in a fitting location, as Crane is the only All-Steinway School within SUNY.
About the guest speaker:
Dr. Randall Faber lectures around the world on musical artistry and talent development, and performs extensively as a classical pianist. His performances have aired on television and public radio. He was a master teacher for the World Piano Pedagogy Conference, the Music Teachers National Association Conference and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, as well as offering presentations as a guest artist at universities throughout North America and Asia. Faber holds three degrees from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in education and human development from Vanderbilt University. Faber and his wife Nancy are well known as authors of the bestselling "Piano Adventures" teaching method, and their many publications for the piano. Together, they co-founded the Faber Piano Institute.
