Cranston's Lauren Moore Completes Global Citizenship Certificate Program at Stonehill College
EASTON, MA (11/14/2013)(readMedia)-- Lauren Moore, a Cranston native, recently completed a new Global Citizenship Certificate Program at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. Now in her senior year at the College, Moore is among the first students to complete the G.R.A.S.P. Program, which stands for Global Reflections Abroad Shape Potential.
The program is a for-credit, three part course for students studying or interning abroad for a semester. The course is designed for inquisitive students who are interested in maximizing their study abroad experience through reflection, immersion, and enhanced cultural learning.
The three-credit certificate program spans the course of three semesters, beginning the semester before students go abroad, continuing for the duration of their semester overseas, and ending midway through the semester following their return. A highly interactive and reflective course, it includes class discussions, group activities, journal writing, blogging, and in-country assignments.
Moore completed the CAPA International Internship Program in London, England where she interned part-time at the Baytree Centre, an organization offering educational and training programs for women and girls in inner city London last spring.
