HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (04/11/2011)(readMedia)-- Hampden-Sydney College senior Curtis Walton Tomlin (left) recently received the prestigious James Madison Public Service Certificate from Dr. Christopher B. Howard, President of Hampden-Sydney College on behalf of the Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest. The Public Service Certificates are presented to seniors who have successfully completed a two-year concentration of classes, internship, and research and who are seriously considering careers in public service.
Curtis, a four-year member of the varsity golf team, is active with Ducks Unlimited. He is a member of the honor society Pi Sigma Alpha (political science) and Phi Beta Kappa (academics). Curtis completed an internship last summer in the U.S. Fulbright Office in Prague in the Czech Republic. He plans to attend law school following graduation. Curtis, a government major, is a graduate of Atlee High School and is the son of Danny & Joanie Tomlin of Mechanicsville.
