LORETTO, PA (04/26/2011)(readMedia)-- Curtis Webb, Jr. from Washington, NJ was one of ten Saint Francis University (Loretto, PA) seniors have been nominated to receive the prestigious Mr. and Miss Frankie awards. Five male seniors and five female seniors were chosen by the senior class, faculty and administration based on their academic achievements, commitment to Franciscan Values and leadership in campus related activities. The winners will be announced at the Presidents' Awards Convocation. The final nominees include: Theodore Jagielski, Noah Langer, Eric Sepich, Eric Syty, Curtis Webb, Jr., Leah Bucci, Allison Daly, Liz DeMedal, Melanie Dollar and Amanda Tishko.
Theodore Jagielski of McDonald, is a mathematics major and computer science minor. He served as president of the Student Government Association (SGA) and vice president of finance for the Student Activities Organization (SAO), is a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity, and is a Faculty Senate Student Representative.
Noah Langer, of Coupon, is a history major with a political science minor. He is a member of Alpha Phi Delta fraternity and SGA. He also participated in the Loretto Firemen's Breakfast, Special Olympics and Dorothy Day Center's Funfest.
Eric Sepich, of Saxonburg, is a psychology major and neuroscience minor. He is a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity, Psychology Club, was the 2010 Homecoming King and is a Student Ambassador. He also participated in the Study Abroad Semester in France, is the Frankie the Friar mascot and has presented posters at several psychology conferences.
Eric Syty, of Amherst, N.Y., is an English/communications major. He is a member of the Men's Volleyball Team, Editor-in-Chief of The Red Flash Newsletter and a writer and photographer for The Troubadour. He also is the creator of Gatorade Pong 2011 and participated in St. Michael's church Turkey Dinner and Pumpkin Fest.
Curtis Webb Jr., of Washington, N.J., is a business management major with a political science minor. He is a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity, was a member of the Regional Presentation Team for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), and was a presenter at the Day of Reflection. He also participated in the Study Abroad Springtime in Parma program, AICUP Study Lobby Day and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Warren County.
Leah Bucci, of Johnstown, is a physician assistant major and biology minor. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa sorority, Physician Assistant Student Society and Habitat for Humanity. She participated in the Study Abroad Semester in France program and is an ACE Peer Tutor. She has volunteered at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital and served as Girl's Track Coach for Penn Cambria High School.
Allison Daly, of Harrisburg, is a secondary education major. She is a member of the Women's Basketball team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Education Club. She has also participated in PA Special Olympics, The Miracle League, and St. Mike's 3x3 Tournament. She is a member of the SFU Athletic Honor Roll and the Northeast Conference Honor Roll.
Liz DeMedal of New Wilmington, is a nursing major. She is a member of the Student Nurses Association, SAAC, NEC Women's Indoor Track & Field Team and Women's Track & Field. She was on the 2010 Homecoming Court and worked as an ACE Peer Tutor. She has also participated in Relay for Life, Special Olympics and the Flu shot clinic.
Melanie Dollar, of Gaithersburg, MD, is a social work major with a sociology/business management minor. She is a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority, Social Work Club, Hugs for Honduras, Students for Life and Colleges Against Cancer. She was recognized as Social Work Student of the year and participated in the Study Abroad Semester in France program, Relay for Life, American Red Cross Blood Drive, Alex's Lemonade Stand and Adopt-A-Grandparent.
Amanda Tishko, of Pittsburgh, is an occupational therapy major with a psychology minor. She is a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority, Occupational Therapy organization and was honored as Greek Woman of the Year. She volunteered with the American Red Cross Blood Drive, Adopt a Highway, Ronald McDonald House, Special Olympics and Alex's Lemonade Stand.
