DA Rice's Youth Safety Coalition and OASAS to Host Free Training on Heroin, Teen Drinking, and Cyberbullying

MINEOLA, NY (05/17/2010)(readMedia)-- Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice will join with Commissioner Karen M. Carpenter-Palumbo of the State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America in hosting a FREE TRAINING opportunity, featuring the Partnership's PACT360 Train the Trainer Program, for member agencies of the Long Island Youth Safety Coalition, along with local prevention and treatment providers.

Training presentations will cover issues such as underage drinking, heroin and drug abuse and will also include a special presentation on cyber-bullying. There will be a press conference kicking off the event at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18 at the Molloy College Auditorium, located at the Republic Airport in Farmingdale, 7180 Republic Airport, East Farmingdale, NY 11735.

The Train the Trainer day is part of the District Attorney's and Commissioner Carpenter-Palumbo's ongoing efforts to empower organizations, schools, and community partnerships to help youth lead safe and healthy lives.
