DMV Office In Peekskill Reopened
Damaged Equipment and Infrastructure Repaired or Replaced
ALBANY, NY (09/18/2007)(readMedia)-- Commissioner David J. Swarts of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the State Office in Peekskill will officially reopen on Wednesday, September 19, 2007. The office had been closed since September 5.
In the first week of September, a plumbing problem located in an office above the DMV occurred during the evening hours when staff were not present and the situation was not discovered until the following morning. The problem resulted in a great deal of water damage, making the office unsuitable for business. Since then, staff and other entities worked diligently to repair and recover from the incident.
“I am pleased this situation was able to be rectified so quickly and I would like to thank everyone for helping us get the office up and running again,” Commissioner Swarts said. “All of the damaged equipment and infrastructure has been repaired or replaced and because of the cooperative effort by everyone involved, this recovery took only two weeks to accomplish.”
The Peekskill office hours will remain the same. The hours of operation for the office located at 1045 Park Street in Peekskill are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 - 4:00 and Thursday 10:00 - 6:00. For current updates on DMV offices across the state please visit: www.nysdmv.com.
