Dallas Native Receives Prestigious Faculty Award at St. Mary's College of Maryland

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (06/18/2013)(readMedia)-- St. Mary's College of Maryland announces that Barrett Emerick, native of Dallas, TX, was awarded the Andy Kozak Faculty Contribution to Student Life Award. This award recognizes faculty members who are active participants in student life at the college.

Emerick joined the St. Mary's College faculty in 2011. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Colorado Boulder and teaches courses in ethics, social and political philosophy, and feminist philosophy. His current research focuses on restorative justice and moral repair, the intersection of epistemology and ethics, and moral responsibility.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
