Dansville Campus Center Hosting SAT Prep Course

Sessions to Take Place Wednesday Nights Beginning April 19th

BATAVIA, NY (03/29/2017) (readMedia)-- The Business and Employee Skills Training (BEST) Center at Genesee Community College is hosting an SAT prep course at the College's Dansville Campus Center for students preparing to take the exam this spring. Students interested in honing their skills for the SAT exam should plan on attending the course, which will be offered on six Wednesday nights beginning on April 19, 2017.

This course is designed to prepare students for the English and Math components of the SAT exam. It will familiarize students with the format of the exam, and provide both strategies and practice using questions similar to those on the actual exam. The course includes review and practice of critical reading, sentence completion, grammar, usage and writing, as well as topics from pre-algebra, algebra and geometry.

Offered over six sessions, the course costs $137 (includes the book) and is scheduled Wednesdays from April 19, 2017 – May 24, 2017 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the GCC Dansville Campus Center. Seating is limited, and those interested in participating should register by April 17, 2017 by visiting www.bestcenter.org, by calling (585) 335-7820 or by stopping by the campus center. The Dansville Campus Center is located at 31 Clara Barton Street, Dansville, NY 14437.

"For a minimal investment of time and resources, this course makes a significant difference in helping young people improve their comfort level in test taking, and ultimately improving their SAT scores," Amy Churchfield, associate dean of the Dansville Campus Center said. "We believe this is a real value for families with high school age students who are soon to be college bound."
