Delaware Valley University Place Studies Class Travels to Japan

A group of Delaware Valley University students and alumni traveled to Japan in March as part of the University's Place Studies course. The group was accompanied by Dr. Michael Stamps and Dr. Brian Lutz from the Department of English.

The University's Department of English offers the Place Studies course each spring. Previous trips have taken students to Ireland (2013), England and Wales (2014), France (2015), Italy (2016), and Spain (2017). Next year's trip will be to South Africa.

Course materials are selected with the purpose of familiarizing students with the people and places associated with each stop on the trip itinerary. Participants learn about the cultural significance of the places they visit through poetry, drama, short fiction, novels, films, and supplemental materials.
