Memorable, Enriching Experience for the Entire Family
ESPERANCE, NY (09/03/2007)(readMedia)-- The Landis Arboretum offers classes, workshops, guided and self-guided nature study. Events and workshops are designed for elementary school classes as well as the general public and focus on the flora and fauna of the Arboretum. Landis is home, also, to dozens of species of birds and other wildlife and varied ecosystems from its two Ancient Forests to its unique collection of native plants. It is a great place for scout troops to work on badge requirements (and perform valuable community/environmental service).
For youth groups seeking field trips, educational programs, or instruction for badge requirements SUNY Cobleskill Natural Sciences Dept. Chair and President of Landis Board Barbara Brabetz offers two Fridays each month for group presentations.
