Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" Stars to Appear at SUNY Delhi
DELHI, NY (09/22/2009)(readMedia)-- Johnathan Hillstrand and Andy Hillstrand, captains of the fishing boat "Time Bandit" featured on The Discovery Channel "Deadliest Catch," will appear at SUNY Delhi Thursday, October 1, in the Clark Field House at 7 p.m. The Hillstrands, who serve in one of the world's deadliest professions, will present their real-life adventures fishing for crab in the Bering Sea.
Johnathan Hillstrand and Andy Hillstrand were born and raised in Alaska. As sons of a fisherman, their lives at sea began at an early age. The Hillstrands' father, John Sr., would take then fishing off the Alaskan coast for crab, cod, halibut, and salmon at every opportunity. Over the course of their childhood, they learned their craft and honed their fishing skills. Continuing his fathers' legacy, John became a full-time professional fisherman after high school, fishing the Alaskan waters as well as spending eight years in Gloucester, Mass. as a lobster fisherman. As Co-Captain to his brother, Andy is the consummate professional fisherman and takes every aspect of crew and boat safety seriously.
