ALBANY, NY (01/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Ilene S. Cooper is the new chair of the 5,013-member Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Cooper is a partner at Farrell Fritz in Uniondale, concentrating her practice in trusts and estates.

A 31-year member of the State Bar, Cooper recently served as chair-elect of the Trusts and Estates Section. She is a past president of the Suffolk County Bar Association. She teaches at Touro Law School, where she was named Adjunct Professor of the Year in 2011.

A resident of Dix Hills, Cooper graduated from Cornell University and Hofstra Law School.

The 77,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
