w/ Sen Brad Hoylman, AM Linda Rosenthal, AM Yuh-Line Niou
NEW YORK, NY (10/29/2021) (readMedia)-- On Halloween, Rep. Jerry Nadler, Senator Brad Hoylman, Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou, and Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal will join Common Cause/NY, Make the Road NY, NY Civic Engagement Table, and partners to get out the vote for ballot proposals 1, 3, and 4. The groups will gather at Dante Park near the Lincoln Center Atrium, an early voting location.
Check out the Yes on 1, 3, 4 campaign website here.
Proposal 1 would create districts that put New Yorkers before politicians by enshrining the ban on prison based gerrymandering into the state constitution, making sure that non-citizens are included in the Census for the sake of redistricting, and making several additional fixes to improve the process. Proposals 3 and 4 would make voting more accessible for all New Yorkers by eliminating voter registration deadlines and allowing voters to request an absentee ballot, no excuse needed.
Ballot proposals 1, 3, and 4 have been endorsed by 7 members of congress including Reps Nadler, Maloney, Bowman, Meng, Jones, Jeffries, and Rice; 6 key labor unions including 1199 SEIU, 32BJ, CWA District 1, NYSNA, CIR SEIU, and DC37; state legislators including Senators Brisport, Kaplan, Myrie, Salazar, Ramos, Assemblymembers González-Rojas, Darling, Lavine, Ramos, Solages, and 50+ civic engagement groups.
