Doss, Morrow named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Seniors Sadie Doss (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) and Lexi Morrow (Landisburg, Pa./West Perry) of Kutztown University women's volleyball had their names called as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division II Academic All-District honorees, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

In order to be eligible for this honor, student athletes must have been a starter or key reserve on their respective teams throughout the 2022 season, must have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's games and must have at least a 3.50 GPA.

Doss, a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference First Teamer, started in 24-of-25 matches played this season and appeared in all 97 sets. She ranked second in the PSAC in kills (371) and kills per set (3.82), second in points (433.5) and third in aces (53). Her 53 aces are fourth-best in a season in program history. Doss was also second on KU with 270 digs and added 30 assists.

Morrow was the facilitator for the offense as the setter and also stood out defensively for the Maroon and Gold. She started in all 25 matches and 97 sets for KU this season, finishing with career-highs in assists (843), service aces (31) and kills (35). Her 8.69 assists per set ranked fourth in the PSAC. Morrow finished her career ranked sixth all-time in program history with 2,053 career assists.

Doss and Morrow are the first Golden Bear volleyball players to earn Academic All-District since 2012. The duo is now among those eligible for consideration for the Academic All-America Team that will be announced Dec. 21.
