ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (01/06/2014)(readMedia)-- Douglas Pelaez, a Hyattsville, Md., native and senior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Roberts Family Financial Aid Endowment. The endowment was established in 2013 by Eveline and William P. Roberts, III.
At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Pelaez is studying studio art. He hopes to pursue a career in graphic design or law enforcement.
Outside of the classroom, Pelaez is a resident assistant, public safety dispatcher and media services technician. He is a member of the Rugby Club, president of the paintball club and vice president of the Recreational Paintball Club. He is also interested in drawing, listening to music, going to country concerts and fishing.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
