PHILADELPHIA, PA (10/22/2010)(readMedia)-- Andrew M. Peterson, PharmD, PhD, has been named dean for Mayes College of Healthcare Business and Policy at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Dr. Peterson had been interim dean for Mayes College since November 2009. Previously, Dr. Peterson served five years as chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice/Pharmacy Administration in the University's Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, where he is an associate professor of clinical pharmacy.
Dr. Peterson has concentrated his years of research in pharmacy management, managed care pharmacy, pharmaceutical care, and medication compliance. He recently received his PhD in health policy from the University in May 2009. Before joining University of the Sciences in 1996, he was an assistant director of pharmacy and clinical services at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Prior to that, he was an associate director of pharmacy, drug information, and clinical services at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Mayes College of Healthcare Business and Policy at University of the Sciences prepares undergraduate and graduate students to make an impact on the critical healthcare needs of society, and to compete in the evolving healthcare arena where business, policy, and public needs intersect.
