Dr. Zachary A. Klobnak to present a guest organ recital at Campbellsville University on Feb. 12

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (02/04/2019) (readMedia)-- Dr. Zachary A. Klobnak, college organist and instructor of organ, harpsichord and piano at Centre College in Danville, will be presenting a guest organ recital on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.
He will be performing music by William Mathias, Rachel Laurin, William Walton, and Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert is free and open to the public.
Originally from Iowa, Klobnak has had the opportunity to study in many different states and countries. He holds degrees from Luther College (BA), the University of Florida (MM) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (DMA), where he held the Brownson Fellowship for organ studies.
He has studied under organ teachers Dana Robinson, Laura Ellis and Gregory Peterson; he has studied harpsichord with Kathryn Reed and choral conducting with Donald Nally, Fred Stoltzfus and Timothy Peter. Klobnak has also studied French organ literature and design in Paris and in the Alps region of France.
Klobnak is also the director of music and organist at the Presbyterian Church of Danville, where has many administrative and creative roles. He directs the music program, administers the "Music on Main Street" concert series and plays the church's Taylor & Boody pipe organ. He has also held church music positions in Illinois, Florida and Iowa.
An active recitalist, Klobnak is a member of the American Guild of Organists and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
